I actually didn’t start out on G+ using a pseudonym. I assumed wrongly that they’d let me have my “nickname” display as my normal name & let me keep my “real” name secret, but the cat was out of the bag long ago, so both my long-standing pseudonym & my Google profile & everything I do with Google, and my Twitter account (since it uses my pseudonym) & my Facebook account eventually, are destined to die fairly shortly. I’m really annoyed about this. F*ck, even my Tumblr is going to have to go. I put too many eggs in one basket, & now pretty much everything I ever did or said is traceable by Google. Well, that’s going to have to stop. New pseudonym will be recorded separately & I’m going to have to contact each of my friends individually to tell them where they can find me.

I am angry and disheartened, even though I knew it was pretty much inevitable. +Wired Ferret is not a wasponym, even though it is my name.
I thought about changing to something else, Anne Shirley or Jean ValJean, but no, I think that +Wired Ferret dies here, until the names policy is revised. I respect the other people who have changed their names and carried on the fight. I reserve the right to change my mind. But for now, I am walking away from the social network that doesn’t want me.
Which is a pity. It’s awesome technology. I love a ton of things about how it works. Just not this.

I gave them an alternative name, Eligible Cuck, with numerous links to the pervasiveness of that nickname all over the internet too. But I think Google just doesn’t want unknown mature adult profiles on their SN. Yet, they tolerate celebrity porn stars like Sasha Grey, and even other stage name porn stars.
